The Middle Years School
The Middle Years Stage Principal is fully responsible for the implementation of all requirements of this stage along with her team of Assistant Principal, Student Affairs Manager, and Counselor. This team works cooperatively to serve the students' needs.
Amman Academy has recently obtained Middle Years Program (MYP) Candidate School status and, therefore, we are currently implementing the Middle Years program (MYP) in grades 6 and 7 with grades 8-10 to follow soon.
Students cover all subject requirements of the Ministry of Education with additional enrichments applied to the regular curriculum in order to prepare them for the Middle Years Program (MYP). Subjects taken include Arabic, English, Math, Science, Religion, Computer, Art, PE, Design Technology and Social Studies.
Our staff is encouraged to use a variety of teaching strategies and technology is an essential tool in the classroom. Facilities such as the library, science and computer labs are integrated regularly into our students' formal education to enhance their knowledge through practice.
A wide variety of academic, sports and community service activities among many other extra curricular activities are made available to our students. Academic activities include reading programs, spelling bee competitions and scientific research projects. After-school sports activities include football, basketball, swimming, kickboxing and music to name some. We offer Spanish and German language clubs on Tuesdays as an extra curricular activity and students also serve their community by taking part in the annual winter campaign by collecting provisions and visiting less fortunate families.
